Annual graduation ceremonies

Students at our Kimberley based campuses had reason to celebrate in March, with annual graduation ceremonies marking the completion of their well-earned qualifications. More than 300 people attended the ceremonies held in Broome, Kununurra, Derby, Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing - a representation of the 533 students who completed nationally recognised certificates since March last year.

Trainer of the Year - Tegan Mossop
Tegan Mossop is an Access lecturer based in Fitzroy Crossing. Tegan is an excellent communicator who uses a range of delivery methodologies to engage students. She is an all-rounder who works hard and does it all with a smile on her face.

Apprentice of the Year - Eric Wade
Eric Wade is a dedicated student who started with NRT as an automotive school-based apprentice five years ago. Eric went on to complete an automotive apprenticeship and has since gained employment as an automotive mechanic.

Trainee of the Year - Zania Hearn
Zania Hearn was the only female participant in WA to complete her Certificate II in Agriculture through the ILC's pastoral training program. Zania persevered through her training and has since secured employment at a commercial cattle station. 

Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year - Veronica Brooking
Veronica Brooking completed a Certificate III in Education Support to assist her in an education support role in Fitzroy Crossing. Veronica excelled in every element of the course and became a very experienced, effective and trusted educator.

VET in Schools Student of the Year - Annalise Dale
Annalise Dale completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education as part of her VET in Schools training last year, and demonstrated maturity beyond her years.  She has since been offered full-time employment at a Broome early learning centre. 

Broome Student of the Year  - Danika Tilley
Danika Tilley has progressed from a Certificate III into a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, and plans to pathway into a degree in teaching or social work at university. Danika's work reflected her desire to affect social change in the community.

Kununurra Student of the Year - Greg Chamberlain
Greg Chamberlain completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to assist him with his goals of resurrecting Kununurra's Ord River Sports Club. Greg is now able to develop in-house training for the club based on national standards.

Derby Student of the Year - Chloe Guest
Chloe Guest completed a Certificate III in Business as part of a traineeship last year. Chloe demonstrated a strong willingness to complete all tasks at hand, and is now a full-time employee with Main Roads WA.

Halls Creek Student of the Year - Resantia Bin Omar
Resantia Bin Omar overcame many hurdles to complete her Certificate II in Business. Resantia had limited transport options and no computer at home to practice on, however, dedicated herself and excelled across the board.

Fitzroy Crossing Student of the Year - Jannah Macale
Jannah Macale undertook a Certificate I in Gaining Access to Training and Employment while completing her schooling. Jannah is a hard-working, self-motivated high achiever who is exploring her options for further training.

Wyndham Student of the Year - Thomas Grounds
Thomas Grounds completed a Certificate I in Maritime Operation (Coxswain Grade 2 Near Coastal) while working in a coordinator capacity for the Balangarra Rangers. Thomas provided ongoing guidance to his colleagues and inspired those around him.
