East Kimberley Achievement Awards success

North Regional TAFE was proud to again be a part of the East Kimberley Aboriginal Achievement Awards (EKAAA) this year, a positive event that celebrates the achievements of Aboriginal people across the East Kimberley.

The gala awards night, held at the Kununurra Country Club Resort last month, attracted a record number of community members and guests, with achievement showcased across 14 different award categories. All nominations were based on the principle of 'Reward for Effort', acknowledging individuals and organisations for their achievements and contributions to the cultural, social and economic development of Aboriginal people in the region.

NRT Kununurra Training Manager Rosemary Taffinder presented training vouchers to Junior Person of the Year and the Junior Outstanding Individual Achievement Award winner. Many award winners went on to share their own personal stories and offered words of encouragement to others during the night.
