Spirit Radio and 'The Next Step!'

North Regional TAFE participated in a radio segment on Spirit 102.9 Broome this term, promoting training opportunities available in the Kimberley. The segment will be extended into the Pilbara next year, so keep a listen out! Click below to listen to each radio podcast from Term 4.

Segment 1: Business and Community Development Manager Rebecca Snowdon gives a general overview of North Regional TAFE, including facilities and support services available.


Segment 2: Broome Training Manager Jeff Cooper discusses training opportunities in maritime, tourism and horticulture.


Segment 3: Broome Training Manager Michelle Scally discusses a range of courses including English as a Second Language, Art, Beauty and Computing.


Segment 4: Jeff speaks about the Broome Maritime Simulation Centre, Tug Boat Training and a Threadfin Salmon tagging program.


Segment 5: Michelle speaks about the opportunities available in the trades areas including apprenticeships, mining and short courses.


Segment 6: Rebecca speaks about VET in Schools training and options available to those still at school.


Segment 7: Jeff speaks about opportunities for 2018, including the Community Service Program and new tour guide training.


Segment 8: Head of Programs George Somerville discusses the successful IELTS testing, and opportunities in security and construction in 2018. 


Segment 9: In the last segment for the year, Rebecca discusses the launch of the 2018 Course Guide, highlights of 2017 and opportunities in 2018.
