Roebourne students treated to a taste of industry

Students at Roebourne District High School were treated to a taste of industry this month, when they attended North Regional TAFE’s Roebourne campus mini expo.

NRT lecturers guided students through hair and beauty practices, art fundamentals, native plant propagation and construction basics.

Students dappled with acrylic paints on canvas, experimented with hair styles and beauty remedies, learnt about native plants, and put the finishing touches on a Viking-style camp chair.

Karratha Training Manager Michelle Scally commended the students for their enthusiasm and efforts on the day.

“The students took up the challenges with great enthusiasm and a great attitude towards trying new techniques,” Michelle said.

“The students arrived excited and willing to get working, and all walked away pleased with their efforts and final products.”
