Accelerate your career in the automotive industry!

The Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology is an entry-level qualification, providing participants with basic electrical and mechanical skills, and the ability to service a car. Throughout this course, participants will learn how to repair engines, transmission and suspension on light vehicles.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Monitor environmental and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace
  • Meet workplace OHS requirements
  • Identify basic automotive faults
  • Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment
  • Service final drive assemblies
  • Service final drive (driveline)
  • Understand job roles and employment in the industry

This course is intended to prepare new employees for the industry, and to recognise and develop existing workers who are performing servicing and maintenance of vehicles in an automotive service or repair business.

This course is available at other campus locations upon request.

Half price*

This course is part of the Lower fees, local skills initiative, allowing you to pay just half of the standard course fees for training in 2020-21.

The following people will be eligible for the $400 annual course fees cap under Lower fees, local skills

  • Persons aged 15—24 years at the time of enrolment (excluding students enrolled at school)
  • Persons and dependents of persons receiving JobKeeper payment
  • Persons and dependents of persons in receipt of services from one of the following Commonwealth support or employment services programs:
    • Jobactive
    • Online Employment Services
    • ParentsNext
  • Persons and dependents of persons receiving the Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY
  • Persons and dependents of persons holding:
    • a pensioner concession card or  Health Care Card; or
    • Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs
  • Dependents of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution
