Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Help shape the future of our young people.
Make a difference in childrens’ lives by learning how best to support their wellbeing, learning and development. This course is the nationally regulated entry level qualification for working in Early Childhood Education and Care settings.
Participants will learn how to implement the National Quality Framework, National Regulations and National Quality Standards to support the education and care of children from birth to school age. Participants will develop skills in facilitating children’s play, cultural competence, and creating healthy and safe environments.
As part of this qualification, participants will undertake 120 hours of supervised work placement where they will be able to apply the skills and knowledge learned throughout the course. A federal police clearance and Working with Children Check are required prior to placement.
This course is part of the Lower fees, local skills initiative, allowing you to pay just half of the standard course fees for training in 2020-21.
The following people will be eligible for the $400 annual course fees cap under Lower fees, local skills.
- Persons aged 15—24 years at the time of enrolment (excluding students enrolled at school)
- Persons and dependents of persons receiving JobKeeper payment
- Persons and dependents of persons in receipt of services from one of the following Commonwealth support or employment services programs:
- Jobactive
- Online Employment Services
- ParentsNext
- Persons and dependents of persons receiving the Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY
- Persons and dependents of persons holding:
- a pensioner concession card or Health Care Card; or
- a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs
- Dependents of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution
