Project administrators are responsible for coordinating all aspects of a project, from developing a plan or framework, through to communications, resourcing, staffing and delegation within a specified budget and timeframe. Project administrators are a key asset of many organisations across a wide range of industries. 

This course provides you with project management skills that can be applied to both small and large-scale projects. You will learn about project scope and timeline development, quality control measures, resource, costing, data and risk management, as well as engaging and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders

Throughout this course, you will gain skills in: 

  • Project scope and timeline development 
  • Quality control measures, resources and costing 
  • Risk management 
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication 
  • Project lifecycle facilitation 
  • Data management using Microsoft Excel 

Students will gain skills in project management and be able to apply them to both small and large scale projects working as a project team member. 

  • You have a minimum of two years’ work experience 
  • You are a trainee aiming to develop the knowledge and skills required for project coordination 

This qualification is primarily offered online, with fortnightly group online tutorial sessions as well as individual tutorial support when needed. If you are completing this course through your workplace, you will have access to mentors for additional support while at work. 

Half-price

This qualification is directly aligned with priority industry areas where jobs are today, and into the future. As part of the state government Lower fees, local skills initiative, from 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the tuition fees (plus resource fee) capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. In order to study this course at North Regional TAFE, students must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Have some administrative experience
  • Have good numeracy skills
  • Students must be able to use a computer

All prospective students are required to undertake an individual pre-enrolment interview to ensure that the program is likely to meet their needs in terms of content and outcomes, level, and learning and assessment methods.

The pre-enrolment meeting is also designed to determine:

  • the applicant’s existing knowledge, skills and level of experience applicable to this qualification
  • the amount of training, including additional training support the applicant will require
  • any other support services that will be required by the applicant
