There is a growing demand for individuals with an existing trade or business qualification to upskill in work health and safety. This combination provides an advantage in securing roles in the mining, construction and manufacturing industries in North West Australia.
The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety has been designed to equip you with the skills to provide advice and assist with improving safety in your workplace.
Throughout this course, you will learn how to:
- Develop suitable work health and safety documentation, and present and promote it within your workplace
- Comply with work health and safety regulations while supporting the workplace
- Collect and analyse workplace safety data
- Identify hazards and assess risks on domestic and commercial building sites, and establish appropriate control measures for these hazards
- Consult with management, subcontractors and workers on health and safety concerns
- Contribute to managing incidents and return to work arrangements of staff
- Assist with managing on-site contractors
Throughout this course, you will gain skills in:
- Report writing and presentation development
- Work health and safety legislation, consultation and participation processes
- Risk management and incident response
- Work health and safety management systems

- Leadership and management

This course remains FEE FREE in 2024! The course fees are 100 per cent subsidised by the WA State Government for WA residents.

There are no formal entrance requirements for this qualification; however, you may have previously completed the Certificate III in Work Health and Safety.
