Empower young people with a career in youth work. 

Build your tool kit to help young people in need. This qualification prepares you for a career as a youth worker, where your core role will be to address the social, behavioural, health, welfare and developmental needs of young people

You will learn how to develop and facilitate community-based programs, provide services appropriate to the needs and circumstances of young people, assist with mental health issues, identify and respond to youth at risk, understand legal and ethical requirements, and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander safety. You will learn how to respond effectively to the changing needs of young people, policy and service types. 

There is a growing demand for qualified youth workers in the North West within community, government and youth sector agencies, and this qualification provides you with a diverse set of skills to develop your career in the industry.

This course will be FREE from 1 January 2023. The course fees are 100 per cent subsidised by the WA State Government.

If you are over 18 years of age and completing work placement as part of this course, you must hold a Working with Children Check and a Police History Check from the Department of Education WA.
