Become a leader in your industry. 

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? This qualification has been designed for those who have substantial operational experience in the tourism and hospitality industry and are ready to step into a management role. 

Throughout this course, you will build on your existing hospitality knowledge while developing skills in planning, leading, implementing and monitoring staff and business operations. You will learn about operational planning, managing budgets, implementing regulatory requirements and work health and safety practices, and techniques for enhancing the overall customer experience. You will also learn how to lead a team of staff, prepare rosters and manage workplace conflict and diversity.  

As part of this course, you will complete a knowledge assessment and be observed completing pre-determined tasks on the job for each unit of study. 

Throughout this course, you will gain skills in:

  • Operational planning 
  • Managing customer service practices 
  • Enhancing customer service experiences 
  • Preparing, monitoring and managing budgets 
  • Leading and managing staff 
  • Rostering staff, managing conflict and workplace diversity 
  • Implementing regulatory requirements and work health and safety practices

You have operational experience in the hospitality industry and wish to progress into a management role.

Half-price

This qualification is directly aligned with priority industry areas where jobs are today, and into the future. As part of the state government Lower fees, local skills initiative, from 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the tuition fees (plus resource fee) capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. It is recommended that you complete the Certificate II in Hospitality or Certificate III in Hospitality prior to entering this qualification. It is expected that you have workplace experience in operational hospitality duties.
