Become a health and safety manager in your workplace.

Are you passionate about the health and safety of your colleagues, and maintaining a safe and secure workplace? The Diploma of Work Health and Safety provides you with the skills and knowledge to be employed in a senior work health and safety role.  

This course covers a suite of work health and safety responsibilities, including risk, hazard and emergency management, compliance requirements, investigating work health and safety incidents, operating management systems and psychological health and safety management. 

Throughout this course, you will gain skills in:

  • Work health and safety responsibilities for and control of a workplace
  • Risk, hazard and emergency management and compliance
  • Consultation, participation and investigation of work health and safety incidents 
  • Work health and safety management systems
  • Hazardous chemicals management 
  • Psychological health and safety management 

  • You wish to extend your knowledge and experience in safety to a management level in the context of your current employment  
  • You wish to improve future employment opportunities in safety management through formal training 

Half-price

This qualification is directly aligned with priority industry areas where jobs are today, and into the future. As part of the state government Lower fees, local skills initiative, from 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the tuition fees (plus resource fee) capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. To enrol in this course, you must have: 

  • Good literacy skills to read, interpret and compile documents  
  • Good numeracy skills to collate and interpret data 
  • Reasonable computer skills sufficient to use the Microsoft Office Suite
