First Aid - Childcare Skill Set
State ID: IAA16
Learn how to provide emergency first aid in an education and care setting.
This course is suitable for educators and support staff working who are required to respond to first aid situations, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.
Participants will learn how to:
- Respond to an emergency situation
- Apply appropriate emergency first aid procedures
- Communicate details of the incident
- Evaluate the incident and their own performance
Please note: This course consists of practical assessments that are completed while working on the floor, therefore we suggest wearing comfortable and appropriate clothing.
This course is part of the Lower fees, local skills initiative, allowing you to pay just half of the standard course fees for training in 2020-21.
The following people will be eligible for the $400 annual course fees cap under Lower fees, local skills.
- Persons aged 15—24 years at the time of enrolment (excluding students enrolled at school)
- Persons and dependents of persons receiving JobKeeper payment
- Persons and dependents of persons in receipt of services from one of the following Commonwealth support or employment services programs:
- Jobactive
- Online Employment Services
- ParentsNext
- Persons and dependents of persons receiving the Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY
- Persons and dependents of persons holding:
- a pensioner concession card or Health Care Card; or
- a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs
- Dependents of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution
