The skill set has been designed for the healthcare sector; specifically those working in aged care or disability support.

The Infection Control Skill Set has been primarily designed for delivery online. Students are expected to start and complete the online theory component of the course using the Blackboard learning platform within one week from the start date, and the practical activities associated with the training are expected be completed within 3 weeks after the completion of the online component. The practical components required can be achieved through observation of your skills in a workplace setting, or through a video submission, or alternatively through a demonstration of your skills at one of our nominated campuses.

The course covers:
  • education on what is infection control
  • common sources of transmission of infections in community settings
  • infection control principles and procedures across various workplace and community settings.

Once you are enrolled your lecturer will be in contact with you prior to starting the scheduled course.

An updated version of this Skill Set is being introduced in 2023. As we are committed to providing you with industry ready Skill Sets, new students will be enrolled into the latest version.

This course will be FREE from 1 January 2023. The tuition fees are 100 per cent subsidised by the WA State Government. Please note, some resource fees may apply.
