Load and Unload Plant Skill Set
Learn the skills required to load and unload plant safely, effectively and efficiently.
The load and unload plant skill set is a one day course comprised of theory and practical activities where you will learn the skills required to load and unload plant safely, effectively and efficiently.
Study Mode On campus.
Participants will be guided through the process of:
- Identifying hazards and implement risk control measures
- Identify environmental issues and implement control measures
- Display signage, erect barriers to isolate loading and unloading activities
- Select tools and equipment in line with work requirements
- Move the plant item onto the trailer or float and halt at the designated position as per workplace procedures
- Secure plant to trailer or float in line with workplace procedures
- Confirm the dimensions and capacity of the float or trailer to safely carry the plant
These competencies form part of the R11 resources and infrastructure industry training package.

You will need to have the following PPE at a minimum when conducting the practical assessments:
- Hi-Vis Long sleeve shirt
- Long Pants
- Steel Cap Boots
- Hard Hat
- Safety Glasses
- Gloves
