Need to know how to use a marine radio?

This two-day skill set provides participants with the skills required to use a marine radio correctly. The Marine Radio Skill Set is a mandatory requirement for the Coxswains and Master 24 Licenses issued by AMSA and DOT and also results in the official Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency (MROCP) License issued by ACMA.

Participants will learn about:

  • VHF, HF, UHF radios
  • Different stations and radio frequencies required for communication
  • Operating procedures for routine, distress, urgency and safety communications
  • Marine DSC techniques and procedures, public correspondences, Seaphone and EPIRBs
  • Search and Rescue in Australia
  • Marine radio equipment basic trouble shooting and maintenance
