NR TAFE is committed to providing access to education and training across the North West.
 

A range of scholarships are available to assist current and prospective students with the cost of fees and study related expenses. Current scholarship opportunities are listed below.

TERM 4 APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!

Applications for NR TAFE's Industry Scholarship Program are now open for Term 4, closing Friday 9 October, 2020.   

NR TAFE's Industry Scholarship Program provides opportunities for Kimberley and Pilbara residents to progress their career aspirations in a range of eligible industry areas. The Industry Scholarship Program has been designed to create opportunities for a better future through education and training, and are open to current and prospective students who can demonstrate educational disadvantage and financial hardship.

The Industry Scholarship Program has four scholarship streams outlined below.

 

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Scholarship

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment scholarship provides participants with the opportunity to undertake a qualification which enables employment as a lecturer, trainer or mentor in the applicant's area of expertise. This qualification provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to facilitate learning and maintain and enhance professional practice through competency-based assessment in a range of settings.

Participants who undertake this qualification will learn how to design and develop learning programs and resources to support delivery. Participants will also learn how to plan and organise assessment, design and develop assessment tools and assess competency in a vocational, training and education environment. Scholarship eligibility requirements:
This scholarship is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The objective of this scholarship is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and to encourage representation within the Vocational Training industry.

To be considered, applicant must identify with at least two of the following demographic requirements:

  • Enrolling in a qualification with a high workforce employment demand (the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment falls within this category)
  • Can demonstrate educational disadvantage and/or financial hardship. Please view the application form for details on supporting information
  • A person living with a disability
  • 21 years old or younger
  • Single parent seeking to return to the workforce
     

> Scholarship value: $1,450.00*

Aspire Scholarship

The Aspire Scholarship is open to prospective students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent and provides an opportunity for career progression in the applicant's chosen field. Applicants must select and apply for their chosen course of study from Certificate I to Diploma level in any NR TAFE qualification. View the full list here.

This scholarship is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

> Scholarship value: $1,000 - $10,100* depending on selected course aspiration

Priority Industry Qualification Scholarship

The WA State Government Priority Industry Qualification List identifies training courses related to skilled occupations that are in high demand across WA. Applicants can select and apply for their preferred course of study from the below list of qualifications available at NR TAFE.

> Scholarship value: $1,000 - $10,100* depending on priority industry qualification.

 

Scholarship eligibility requirements:
This scholarship is only open to all current and prospective students who identify with at least two of the following demographic requirements:

  • Enrolling in a qualification with a high workforce employment demand (outlined in the eligible qualifications listed below)
  • Can demonstrate educational disadvantage and/or financial hardship. Please view the application form for details on supporting information
  • A person living with a disability
  • 21 years old or younger
  • Single parent seeking to return to the workforce

Certificate II in Logistics

Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Master up to 24 metres Near Coastal)

Certificate IV in Maritime Operations (Master up to 35 metres Near Coastal)

Diploma of Accounting

Certificate IV in Ageing Support 

Certificate III in Individual Support - includes specialisation in AgeingDisability and Home and Community Care

Certificate II in Community Services

Certificate III in Community Services

Certificate IV in Community Services

Diploma of Community Services

Certificate IV in Youth Work

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Certificate IV in Training and Assessmen

    Nursing Scholarship

    The nursing scholarship is available to students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent who have received a letter of offer for the Diploma of Nursing.

    If you are interested in applying for this scholarship, please check application dates on the Diploma of Nursing page and submit your expression of interest. Successful applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be provided with an opportunity to apply for a nursing scholarship.

    Scholarship eligibility requirements:

    • Must have received an offer to study the Diploma of Nursing
    • Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
