Creating a USI
Keep your training records secure
All students enrolling in a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course require a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Your USI account contains your nationally recognised training records and results, which you can access anywhere in Australia. Create your USI online at www.usi.gov.au.and provide the number to NR TAFE upon enrolment.
It’s easy to apply online, just follow these six simple steps…
Step 1: Have at least one form of ID ready, such as your Driver's Licence, Medicare Card, Australian Passport, Visa (with non-Australian Passport), Birth Certificate (Australian), Certificate of Registration by Descent, Citizenship Certificate or Immigration Card.
Step 2: Have your personal contact details ready including your address, email and/or phone number.
Step 3: Visit www.usi.gov.au and click on 'Create a USI'.
Step 4: Agree to the terms and conditions and follow the steps.
Step 5: Write your unique number down and keep it somewhere handy and safe.
Step 6: Bring this number with you when you re-enrol.
