NR TAFE tops State for student satisfaction

The results are in!

North Regional TAFE has topped the State for the third consecutive year for overall student satisfaction, according to the 2018 Student Satisfaction Survey.

The Department of Training and Workforce Development’s annual survey collects satisfaction levels among students at WA’s five TAFE colleges and the WA Academy of Performing Arts.

NR TAFE achieved a 93 per cent satisfaction rating, almost five per cent higher than the State average of 88.2 per cent.

The College has also improved on its results from the past two years, achieving 92.3 and 90.9 per cent in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Among the survey results, 93 per cent of respondents were satisfied with their overall course, 91 per cent with the quality of their lecturer and 89 per cent with the facilities available at NR TAFE.

NR TAFE Managing Director Kevin Doig said the positive results were a credit to the team at the College.

“Satisfied students are our number one priority and we have fantastic staff on the ground at each of our campuses to ensure students’ needs are met,” Kevin said.

NR TAFE will also be implementing some changes as a result of the survey. Students reported a 56 per cent awareness of financial assistance options and only half noted an awareness of available counselling services.

“This feedback is critical to ensure we are continually improving in line with our students’ needs,” Kevin said.

“We are taking the feedback on board and plan to expand the quality of information available on these services, through our website and our annual publications including the 2020 Student Handbook.

“Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey and for providing us with this important feedback.”
