Reconciliation Action Plan now online

Estimated reading time: 1 minute

As part of our organisation’s commitment to reconciliation, North Regional TAFE has now launched its 2021-23 Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (12 MB) (PDF document).

As a Vocational Education and Training organisation and TAFE, we realise the vital role and responsibility we have to our communities and people.

The national gap in educational outcomes between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians remains too wide.

Our student enrolment data identifies approximately 35% of our students are from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds; therefore, our business must be responsive, consult, and work in partnership to create opportunities through great learning experiences.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan aims to be central in all that we do, and we hope our RAP will guide our programs, services and partnerships. It will allow us to work more effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities; support our journey to learn more about our world’s oldest continuing cultures, develop new relationships and partnerships.

Through our commitment, relationships and the delivery of quality vocational education and training across our region, we aspire to make a positive contribution to lessening this gap and contributing towards reconciliation in Australia.
