North Regional TAFE English, Languages and Foundation Studies short courses are designed to assist students to gain competency in reading, writing, mathematics, computing and also provide support in career development and pre-employment training.

This course is perfect for jobseekers based in the East Kimberley, who wish to obtain their Learner’s Permit, gain confidence and prepare for employment.

Students who achieve at least 80% attendance in the Keys for Life program in Term 1 and complete the Keys for Life Student Journal, may sit for the Learner’s Permit theory test, administered at North Regional TAFE's Kununurra campus.

Please note: Driver training is not offered as part of the Keys for Life course.

Do you want to improve on your English skills?

This class is suitable for migrants and/or those who come from a non-English speaking background, and wish to build on their English skills in reading, writing, listening, speaking, pronunciation and grammar.

This course is appropriate for Temporary Skill Shortage, Tourist and Working Holiday visa holders. If you are a permanent resident, Australian citizen or the dependent of a 457 visa holder, there are also Government subsidised courses available such as the 22472VIC Certificate I in General Education for Adults.

 

Morning classes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays

Do you need to prepare for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam?

This weekly class offers an in-depth focus on each element of the exam, assisting participants to understand and apply relevant skills and knowledge within the exam context. This course is complemented by the week-long intensive IELTS Preparation Course, and offers participants the opportunity to sit the IELTS exam with a University of Western Australia examiner following completion of this course.
