LANGUAGE, LITERACY AND NUMERACY SKILL SET

The right to literacy is an inherent part of the right to an education.

The Literacy and Numeracy course based on CGEA Intro is suitable for those who did not complete school or those who wish to refresh their skills and knowledge.

This course is also suitable for people who are in employment but require higher level skills, for example research and report writing.

In particular the qualification aims to:

  • Support all adults Australians to fully develop their language, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Prepare learners to function better in community and the workplace
  • Promote lifelong learning to enable learners to continue with further learning
  • Basic Computer skills and knowledge

Please note that participants will not be able to complete the whole certificate in one semester. Units will be chosen depending on individual student requirements, goals and interests.

VU22375 Apply basic computer skills to language learning

VU22376 Access the internet for language learning

VU22378 Communicate with others in familiar and predictable contexts

VU22450 Work with and interpret simple directions in familiar situations
