MASTER 24 AMPA

Upon completion of the Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Master Up to 24 Metres Near Coastal) participants must complete an AMSA mandated practical assessment (AMPA).

That National Standard for Commercial Vessels Part D -- Crew Competencies requires that a seafarer pass a final assessment prior to the issue of a certificate of competency.

As part of the AMPA, participants are required to perform a range of practical tasks relative to their certificate level to ensure appropriate knowledge, operational skills and understanding of the Australian maritime legislation.

MARINE RADIO

This two day skill set will provide you with the skills required to use a marine radio correctly. The Marine Radio skill set is a mandatory requirement for the Coxswains and Master 24 Licenses issued by AMSA and DOT and also results in the official Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency (MROCP) License issued by ACMA.

LOAD RESTRAINT

This short course is aimed at the transport and logistics industry, in particular road transport operations. This course covers chain of responsibility regulations and legislative requirements as stated under the National Transport Commission and heavy vehicle service. Gain an understanding of how the key components of a logistical operation are carried out through interactive learning. You will learn skills in the areas of safe work operations, workplace sustainability, supply chain functions and manual handling techniques.

Enterprise Safety is the second of four blocks of training to upskill and develop your knowledge in the field of Logistics. Upon successful completion of all four blocks of training, you will receive a Certificate II in Logistics TLI21810.

COXSWAIN VESSEL OPERATIONS

This skill set is a fundamental component of both the Coxswain Grade II and Coxswain qualifications. This three day course covers all of the necessary points to safely operate and manoeuvre a vessel up to 12m in length following domestic regulations. This course is rigorous and students will learn to:

•Apply regulations, laws and codes of conduct required to operate a commercial vessel
•Handle and manoeuvre a vessel in varying conditions and emergencies
•Tow and be towed safely

Coxswain Navigation is an intensive and hands on three day skill set that forms part of the mandatory requirement of the Coxswain qualification. You will learn how to:

COXSWAIN ENGINEERING

This Coxswain Engineering skill  is a mandatory requirement in a Certificate II in Coxswain qualification. This skill set is an intensive three day course introducing basic marine engineering. During this course you will learn to:

•Operate and service small vessel propulsion systems including diesel and petrol engines, cooling systems and lubrication systems.
