WALL TAPESTRY

This eight-week course will provide you with an introduction into the traditional and contemporary practice of Woven Tapestry, a textile art form dating back to the 1400's designed for wall display.

During the course we will explore various weaving techniques on simple loom frames and incorporate contemporary design features and creative knotting to develop your own stunning wall piece.

No experience is necessary, yet this course will also provide a leaping off point for those already familiar with the weaving process and give you an opportunity to further explore your creativ

MAKING MARKS ON PAPER

Drawing is the back bone to your arts practice . These units allow you to build your fundamental drawing skills and learn how to capture what is seen with an artist"s eye.

In this course you will learn and explore basic drawing techniques with pencil, ink, charcoal and pastel and investigate the design elements and principles when drawing still life and in plein air activities in our local Broome landscape.

CERAMICS

Suitable for all levels, this course will allow participants to experiment with clay using hand forming construction methods and techniques.

During this course, participants will explore ceramic materials and processes to create a body of work.

Design ideas and concepts will be discussed as a group, and participants will then decorate, glaze and fire their chosen project.

All participants will have the opportunity to work at their own pace under the guidance of a North Regional TAFE lecturer.
