Using non toxic and sustainable methods of printmaking to produce etchings you will immerse yourself in 8 weeks of printmaking including different ways of treating surfaces and preparing paper. Also explore texture with carborundum and a range of materials, textures and surface treatments. Explore various inking and wiping methods, the use of multiple techniques to produce unique state prints.

MAKING MARKS ON PAPER

Drawing is the back bone to your arts practice . These units allow you to build your fundamental drawing skills and learn how to capture what is seen with an artist"s eye.

In this course you will learn and explore basic drawing techniques with pencil, ink, charcoal and pastel and investigate the design elements and principles when drawing still life and in plein air activities in our local Broome landscape.

ENCAUSTIC PAINTING

Encaustic is a Greek word mean 'to heat in or burn in- (enkaustikos). Heat is used throughout the process, from melting the beeswax, embedding and working to the layers through the wabi-sabi approach. Learn a new skill by exploring this new painting technique with beeswax. Incorporate mixed media and varied techniques to bring your work to life.

ENCAUSTIC PAINTING

A visual diary is the most important documentation in an artist"s lifelong creative pathway. This course will look at some of the many ways available to document what you see in the natural world from taking notes and sketching using a variety of mediums to express thoughts. 3D FIBRE SCULPTURE

Develop fundamental sculptural construction skills and techniques for creating 3D forms using grass, fibre, cane, plaster and paper.
