1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) entry requirements
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they meet the minimum LLN entry requirements, demonstrating achievement of an Australian Core Skills Framework Exit Level 3 (that being a Certificate IV or above) as a minimum. This can be demonstrated via various means, including:
The LLN test
The Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA) is an interactive online tool designed to identify and measure an individual's foundation skills level. Participants who undertake this assessment must have an exit level three (that being a Certificate IV) against the Australian Core Skills Framework in both reading and numeracy.
School leaver
Applicants with English as a primary language who have successfully completed an Australian grade/year 12 certificate that includes an English subject need only undertake the numeracy component of the LLN test. In Western Australia the year 12 certificate is referee to as the WACE (Western Australian Certificate of Education).
Non-school leaver
All non-school leaver applicants must complete the CSPA. This test will be administered by NR TAFE on application to the program. This is an online interactive test that can be taken on campus or at home on your own device. The log in for this test will be sent to applicants during the application process.
