First Aid Skill Set

Learn how to provide first aid in emergency situations.

Throughout this course, participants will learn how to:

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Evaluate the incident and their own performance

This course consists of practical components that must be completed on the floor. Please wear comfortable and appropriate clothing.

These courses provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to perform a full range of hairdressing services including fundamental and creative haircutting, styling, colouring, perming and straightening on male and female clients. You’ll also learn to perform reception duties such as making appointments and writing up client record cards, and client consultation and advice.

Ready to enter into a stylish hairdressing career?

The Certificate III in Hairdressing is the minimum trade-level qualification required to practice hairdressing in Australia. Delivered in conjunction with a hairdressing apprenticeship, students will learn all facets of the hairdressing industry.

  • Styling
  • Hair treatments
  • Client consultation
  • Selling products and services
  • Working as part of a team
  • Making financial transactions

Upon completion, students will possess a range of well-developed skills using discretion and judgement while being responsible for their own workload.

The Certificate II in Salon Assistant is an entry-level qualification, providing participants with the skills to work as an assistant in a hair salon. Participants will develop foundation skills and knowledge required in hairdressing salons to provide client services assistance.

Or specialise in the area of personal training and have the ability to work with a variety of individuals or groups in a range of environments.

Learn skills to assess clients and manage client care and apply research skills within a contemporary health environment and will learn skills in areas such as Palliative care nursing, Perioperative nursing and Critical care nursing.
