This course provides you with the additional literacy and numeracy support you need to gain access to other VET training and/or the additional support you need to complete your current VET course. This qualification is approximately equivalent to year 10 high school level and assists in transitioning into other Certificate II, III and IV level courses. It also contributes to the entry requirements for the Australian Defence Force. 

Using a combination of structured teaching and unstructured learning activities, you will build your skills in developing learning plans, identifying pathway options and planning, carrying out and evaluating project-based work. Training is built around a flexible strength-based framework, allowing you to pursue your interests and incorporate your own life experiences into your learning. 

Throughout this course, you will gain skills in: 

  • Clarifying project goals with appropriate people 
  • Planning, carrying out and evaluating a project 
  • Identifying a range of pathway options 
  • Developing a learning plan in relation to identified goals 
  • Assembling a portfolio and evaluating progress in relation to goals 
  • Reading, interpreting and evaluating texts 
  • Creating a range of texts using digital technology 
  • Investigating, interpreting and applying knowledge of every day and formal mathematics in a range of contexts 

You would like to access numeracy and literacy support either to gain access to another VET course or get additional support with a current VET course.

 

 

This course program provides a flexible framework which allows students to pursue their interests. It includes a combination of structured teaching and unstructured learning activities. It works from a strength-based perspective to build confidence and values students’ life-experiences and uses them to develop their communication skills. 

There is a mixture of class based learning and individual self-paced work according to the student’s needs and capacity.
