Make people look and feel their best everyday with a career in the beauty industry!

Are you interested in working in the Beauty industry, working in a Beauty salon, Day Spa or have your own salon? Then this course can give you the skills you need!

Participants will learn how to perform a range of beauty services, including:

  • Lash and brow treatments
  • Manicures and pedicures
  • Massage and facials
  • Make-up
  • Waxing
  • Spray tanning
  • Facials

There are also options of gaining further skills in areas such as ear piercing and eyelash extensions.

You will cover new areas of beauty therapy and gain hands on experience in a simulated work environment where you will perform simple tasks on real clients. Students will provide these services to paying customers as part of their experiences using North Regional TAFE's (NR TAFE) commercial salons on campus.

Participants who complete the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy will have the skills necessary to provide customers with a professional range of beauty treatments and services.

Throughout this course, students will gain skills in:

  • Lash and brow treatments  
  • Nail services 
  • Make-up
  • Massage  
  • Waxing  
  • Communicating with clients to recommend treatments and services 
  • Sell retail skin care and cosmetic products, and, 
  • Communicating with customers 
  • You are already employed or have an interest in working within the Beauty industry

Students will be required to attend study blocks throughout the year.

A mandatory work placement is required.
