This Unit of Competency focuses on the necessary skills and knowledge to proficiently recognise, implement, and adhere to chain of responsibility legislation, regulations, and workplace protocols pertaining to heavy vehicles within one's specific job role. The course encompasses explaining the key elements of the chain of responsibility, implementing the prescribed obligations, and detecting and reporting violations in accordance with the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), as well as relevant state/territory laws and regulations.

Upon successful completion of this latest nationally recognised unit of competency for Chain of Responsibility (CoR), you will achieve the following abilities:
  • Comprehend the CoR obligations relevant to your job role when undertaking 'transport activities.'
  • Explain the necessary steps to ensure compliance with the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) or relevant state/territory laws and regulations.
  • Explain CoR concepts as outlined in the HVNL, including shared responsibility, due diligence, and transport activities.
  • Identify and report instances of chain of responsibility breaches.
  • Implement appropriate risk control measures and report the actions taken.
  • Acquire a solid understanding of load restraint principles and how to utilise the 'Load Restraint Guide.'
  • Familiarise yourself with your obligations under the HVNL concerning speed, mass, dimensions, load restraint, fatigue, and vehicle standards.

This course offers comprehensive understanding and accreditation in the nationally recognised unit of competency for the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) in the freight forwarding and supply chain industry. It caters to individuals from all backgrounds who seek to gain insights into CoR regulations, making it suitable for:

  • Freight Forwarders

The course is open to everyone at all levels since CoR regulations apply universally. Whether you aspire to pursue a career in the freight forwarding and supply chain industry or are currently working towards qualifications in Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, or Warehouse Operations, this course is well-suited to meet your needs.

The course is delivered over two full concurrent days. Day one is the theory component, Day two is practical and assessment. Students must be prepared to attend both days.
