Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Skill Set

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a technique used in emergency situations to save lives.

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

Areas covered throughout this course:

  • Perform CPR in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines
  • Recognise and respond to an emergency situation
  • Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Communicate details of the incident to emergency services
  • Understand the legal considerations and welfare needs post incident

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Not all units and study modes are offered at all campuses. Please check with your local campus.

Compression and ventilation skills must be demonstrated on resuscitation manikins (both adult and infant) following ARC guidelines for the purpose of assessment of CPR procedures. Consists of practical components that must be completed on the floor, so comfortable and appropriate clothing is required to be worn.
