Do you live/work in a remote area and need the skills to respond to an emergency situation?

Australia's North West region is an incredible yet isolated part of the world.

This skill set is designed for people who live, work or travel in remote areas, where you may have to provide a first aid response and wait for an extended period of time for medical help to arrive or prepare for casualty evacuation.

Study Mode On campus.

 

Throughout this course you will learn how to:

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Communication details of the incident in remote or isolated areas
  • Apply appropriate first-aid procedures  
  • Monitor a casualty for an extended period
  • Coordinate evacuation and first-aid management until assistance arrives
  • Triage for multiple casualties
  • Plan and prepare for first-aid situations in remote areas 

The training scenarios will be contextualised to local remote and isolated settings. 

This skill set will take place at the Broome Campus and 12 Mile Site to create remote scenarios or will be delivered out on country on Cattle Stations or at Ranger Bases in the Kimberley.
