The WA Government has launched the TAFE: Be More campaign to showcase the vocational education and training (VET) courses and pathways available at TAFE colleges around the state.

Thanks to significant WA Government investment to make training more affordable through low and fee-free courses, coupled with the largest investment in new infrastructure and equipment in WA TAFE history, there’s no better time to get industry-standard skills at TAFE.

The brand campaign positions TAFE has a leader in achieving life changing outcomes for individuals and features more than 30 WA TAFE students who are completing VET qualifications, giving them skills to get ahead and excel in their chosen career.

The campaign was filmed on location at each of the five TAFE colleges throughout WA, and showcases the diverse range of study areas as well as the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities available.

Music tracks for the campaigns were also created by TAFE students. ‘TAFE: Be More’ specifically aims to inspire Western Australians to enrol at TAFE to progress their training and career opportunities – regardless of where they live or the barriers they may face.

To further encourage enrolments of women in non-traditional trades, such as automotive, construction, and engineering; the State Government will also be promoting the Women in Non-Traditional Trades (WINTT) scholarship program through the campaign.

Opening in November, the program includes mentoring and a $5,000 scholarship for eligible students. A new consolidated WA TAFE website has also been established to help improve the online user experience and help students start their TAFE journey.

The commencement of ‘TAFE: Be More’ coincides with the signing of the new $1.34 billion National Skills Agreement, which puts TAFE at the heart of delivering skills for critical and emerging industries including clean energy and deepens the State's response to Closing the Gap for First Nations peoples.

This new investment is on top of $44.5 million investment from the Commonwealth in funding for WA for the delivery of 22,200 fee-free TAFE places from 2024.
