Grow your work and employability skills! 

The Certificate II in Workplace Skills provides you with the entry-level skills required for employment and to progress into further business studies. Throughout this course, you will gain skills in basic procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that require self-management and technology. 

This course covers skills in: 

  • Communication and customer service 
  • Problem solving, stress and time management 
  • Digital technology and online research 
  • Business software applications 
  • Workplace health and safety 

Depending on the elective units you select, you will gain skills in:

  • You are a trainee wishing to commence employment in a business environment 
  • You want to become job-ready 

If you enrol as part of a traineeship, you will be allocated a workplace mentor to assist you with becoming familiar with the culture and expectations of the workplace. Your lecturer will liaise with your nominated supervisor, set projects for assessment and undertake workplace visits with you. 

There are no formal entrance requirements for this course; however, you are expected to be able to read, write and study independently with some support from trainers and mentors. 

This qualification prepares you for roles such as: 

  • Administration assistant 
  • Office junior 
  • Receptionist 
  • Data entry operator
