Throughout this course, you will learn how to interpret aspects of local indigenous culture, provide an engaging service to customers, create tourism briefings and scripted commentary, and work as part of a team.



This course is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in the tourism industry and build your confidence to share knowledge about country to domestic holidaymakers and international tourists alike. This course covers:

• Traffic control using a stop-slow bat
• Installing road safety signs and standard equipment in accordance with relevant government legislation
• Working safely when setting up traffic control equipment and directing traffic around road works

This course is appropriate for construction site and local council works.

The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment equips students with the skills and Certification needed to launch a rewarding career in vocational education and training. 

Participants will learn to design engaging training plans and deliver effective skill-based instruction. Throughout this course, students will discover how to design, contextualise, and facilitate training tailored to individual and organisational needs, all while adhering to industry and quality standards.

Students will also gain valuable knowledge to foster learning across diverse environments. They will enhance their professional practice through competence-based assessment that aligns with a National Framework. Through engaging workshops and workplace-based learning, students will be prepared to make a significant impact on the lives of learners. Graduates often pursue careers as VET Trainers or Assessors and Workplace Trainers, applying their expertise to empower others and support their success.

Throughout this course, students will develop basic skills in utilising the appropriate mediums for different genres of work, and the safe use of art products in the industry.

There are a great many opportunities within the art area from production of small local products to be sold in markets, pop-up shop initiatives, art competitions, art as an engagement pathway for other non-profit organisations, as well as production of works available through local galleries to large works such as paintings, jewellery, ephemeral installations, public art and sculptures for the community and local organisations.

This course provides a pathway to a wide range of other qualifications in visual arts and craft, and more broadly, the creative industries.

There are a great many opportunities within the art area from production of small local products to be sold in markets, pop-up shop initiatives, art competitions, art as an engagement pathway for other non-profit organisations, as well as production of works available through local galleries to large works such as paintings, jewelry, ephemeral installations, public art and sculptures for the community and local organisations.

Classes are often held in the evenings and depend upon industry demand. It is recommended to complete one or two units only per term.

The White Card Skill Set is a full day course that is nationally recognised and is incorporated into construction related qualifications undertaken at North Regional TAFE (NR TAFE). 

The following topics are covered in this course:

• Health and safety legislative requirements
• Identifying construction hazards and risk control measures
• Health and safety communication and reporting processes
• Incident and emergency response procedures

Additional Information

Once you have completed this Skill Set you will be issued with your card within 5-10 days from NR TAFE.

Lost/Damaged cards

If you have lost your card or damaged your card and require a replacement, you must first identify the Registered Training Organisation that issued you with your construction induction or blue card and contact them to have it replaced. If you are unsure who issued the card you can find out at Worksafe WA's Construction Induction Training Card Database.

If your card was issued by one of the following providers you may request a replacement from NR TAFE.

• North Regional TAFE
• Kimberley Training Institute

The cost of replacement is $25, for a re-issue please complete the form at: https://www.northregionaltafe.wa.edu.au/current-students/request-your-award and we will be in contact to arrange this for you.

If the RTO that issued your cards is no longer operating, you will need to provide a Statement of Attainment (for the unit CPCCWHS1001) issued by the RTO and present it to North Regional TAFE to enable a re-issue of a general construction induction card.

Please be advised that if you cannot find your details, the name of the RTO, or your Statement of Attainment, you will need to undertake the Construction Induction Training.
